Dennis Haber is one of the leading originators of reverse mortgages in the State of New York. He is an attorney, Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) and Executive Vice President of Senior Funding Group in Hicksville, NY. His book, Piggy Bank Your Home For A Better Today & Tomorrow makes reverse mortgages easy to understand.
Under the auspices of the Nassau County Bar Association, Dennis presented a reverse mortgage seminar for CLE credits. He recently led a national teleconference sponsored by the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association explaining the disclosure documents used for the HECM reverse mortgage. He also wrote an accredited course on reverse mortgages for the Wealth Preservation Institute.
Dennis was the lead speaker on reverse mortgages at the Northeast Conference of the Mortgage Bankers Association. He has been featured in the ASK THE EXPERT column in Newsday (09/25/2004 & 07/09/2005) His articles on the topic have been published in various publications, including, The New York Law Journal (Outside Counsel-August 12, 2005),Senior Market Advisor, Nassau Lawyer, Suffolk Lawyer, New York Mortgage Press, The Cooperator, Real Estate Weekly and Elder Law Attorney a publication of the New York State Bar Association. Dennis frequently speaks to senior groups, bar associations, financial planners and mortgage industry groups. He has also appeared on the nationally syndicated Joey Reynolds Show on WOR radio. He was recently interviewed on Newsdays program, ACT 2 on Channel 21, by News 12 financial reporter AJ Carter. Dennis was honored to be selected as a judge in the 2005 Ms New York Senior America Pageant.
Over the years Dennis has demonstrated his uncanny ability to take a complicated topic and make it easy to understand. He is the author of The Haber Way, an audio CD that explains the dos and donts of getting a mortgage loan, and Playing The Real Estate Game, a fun-filled learning experience that combines buyer, seller and anxiety cards with two audio cassette tapes.
